Objects of Desire: Glitter Pants!!!

I got my very first pair of glitter pants back in April, but lately I seem to be seeing them everywhere, so of course I got more in other shades. It is fair to say I am obsessed with them, there is something about them that makes me think: GLAM! Take me back to the Bowie days, is all I can say! These are definitely a fun way to spice up an outfit and to make a powerful statement. You can find these pants at very reasonable prices in Zara, Mango and H&M. Don't be afraid to pair them with other textures like fur or leather, you won't regret it, they look good on everyone!

Dare to wear them and show us how you have worn them by using the hashtag #StyleModesta on Instagram or Twitter or by posting the look on our Facebook Page and you'll make it to the Stile Bit section of the blog! yei!

Objects of Desire: Statement Sunglasses for Winter!

With cold comes the sun...and if it doesn't you just put your sunglasses on anyway!

Hey Loves!

Forget about the following things: Sunglasses being a summer item, and sunglasses being classic...or shall I say, boring.
Just remember this: Aviators and wayfarers are a complete thing of the past (unless they are extremely oversize) and that winter weather is the new excuse to wear statement sunglasses...
Yes, I said it: Wear sunglasses while it snows or when it's gray and chilly outside! Like I said on the previous Look Of The Day Post, accessories are not always meant to be functional and their use, isn't determined by necessity but rather by wants.
Statement sunglasses are an absolute must to complement anything you wear in winter. I am personally obsessed, I love them and I can't get tired of wearing them.

Wear them however and with anything you want, make sure you keep them interesting, if you opt for monotones, go for interesting shapes, like extremely round and big or pointy cat-like-vintage-feeling sunnies, baroque or even beaded!  The bolder you go, the bigger the statement, don't be afraid to adorn your face with these fabulous pieces.

Objects of Desire: Gloves On!

Hello loves! It is gloves season, yes fall is fun for gloves but they are not really necessary  but with the first blizzards of winter happening in several places, gloves have instantly become a necessity and we have the perfect excuse to rock them out! Gloves are an amazing accessories, sometimes often over looked but when worn with style and opting for interesting, fun options they can become the perfect statement in any outfit. Whether it is a plane wool glove or a more interesting leather studded one, there are many different styles and ways to wear them: Long, short full hand, three fingers, cropped finger (Like the oh-so-awesome statement Lagerfeld gloves), there is always an option that will suit your personal style and any outfit you wear.

Here is a selection of my favorite gloves at the moment (and links to where you can get them). It really is about making a splash and wearing something that will be the object of conversation. Don't be afraid of textures and prints, chances are they'll make shaking hands a lot more interesting! Or not!

D.I.Y: Alter gloves you already have!
I myself chose to get my hand in a pair of gloves, but instead of busying them, I decided to make them! I took a pair of vintage gloves my grandmother gave me and I added collar chains to them by pining them on, there you have a practical idea and alternative to get our gloves on!

Object of Desire: It's a bow...a bow-tie!

Hello beauties! I have been wanting to do an "Objects of Desire" feature on bow ties for so long, but never really went about it. Everything I write about or feature are things, looks or trends I am currently loving and/or rocking (haha) so the thought of writing about something that I didn't really wear was not happening for me. SO as natural I waited until I actually tested the bow tie look and wore it for a bit. The result: I am now definitely obsessed with them!!!!

Bow tie Variety!
Bow ties have been around for centuries, first popularized by the French in the 18th century and as years went by their use ended up being relegated to just formal "party" wear. However, the last few years they have tried to make a comeback with some Fashionistas sporting them on their daily lives. They can certainly add a bit of flair to an outfit, with styles available in floral patterns, stripes, polka dots and almost any other variation.

Whether or not they work for the average woman, really depends on each one of us. Personally, I see them not just as a necktie, but rather as an alternative to necklaces and definitely a fun accessory, come on, it's a bow around your neck, how isn't that cue? And if well wearing an actual bow tie may not be an option for some ladies, how about bow tie necklaces? now that is an interesting second choice!

Bow tie necklaces!

So what do you say, desirable object or not? Be the judge.

Object of Desire: Hats please!

"Wearing a hat is like having a baby or a puppy; everyone stops to coo and talk about it." (Louise Green)

There is a certain allure about wearing hats. Something about them just screams class, style and incredible care for detail in the person who wears them. No wonder I'm obsessed with them at the moment. I used to wear hats when I was a kid, but never really though much of them until recently. Whether it is a daring hat or a more conservative one, it is guaranteed to make you look, classier, chic-er and a lot more interesting than you normally are.

Hats have been making a comeback for a while, but it wasn't until the fall runways of many designers of the likes of Ralph Lauren,  Burberry, Giorgio Armani, Gucci and even the ever-so-daring Betsey Johnson, that they said "We are here and we are here to stay" and now it's time to take them into our wardrobe (if you haven't already) wear them out and style them up!

Hats have been around for centuries. From being part of cultural heritage, military gear, or even part of religious attire, it then went on to become a statement element for women and a differentiating factor for socialites and Fashionistas around. It wasn't until the late 7th century that women's headgear began to emerge on its own right and wasn't influenced by men's hat fashions, and since then many forms shapes and styles have emerged. How not love the Clothe for the early 1920's, the very well-known Boss of the pains, the Boater and even turbans (considered in the headgear category) and others, as part of the boom of hats in the decades of the 20th century?

Nowadays hats are taken less seriously. They are used as the perfect accessory to contrast an outfit, and to add the element of "WOW" to anything we wear. hat's have become a personality statement, and even sometimes, a defines of you you are.

Options as to what to wear, MANY! Fedora's are a go to, cloches are back and berets and beanie and even caps (becuse why not) can be worn with just about any outfit, it rally is about how you choose to wear it and really what fit your personality.

I was thinking about writing this post, when I came across this video by the Advanced Style ladies (I am obsessed with them lol) about the beauty of wearing hat's and I though: This lady said it all! Have a look as to why wearing hats is amazing and can even elevate your spirit. Must watch!

This is all, Hats an object of desire definitely. Get your hands on one as I did, would love to see how you guys look wearing them!

Objects of desire: Printed EVERYTHING!

Yes, prints are a year-round must

I was doing a collage on prints and I though: Wow, I am definitely obsessed with prints! The have pretty much become a girl's wardrobe essential. Even though prints are normally associated with spring, they have really stepped out of it and made their way into other seasons. I discovered that lately when I go shopping I am instantly drawn into everything and anything with any sort of print on it. From jumpers, to shirts to shows, from polka dots to animal print to stripes, anything and everything that pops is pretty much a must in anyone's wardrobe. I used to be a little apprehensive about them, I actually still think they are tricky simply because once you wear something with a print on it it becomes memorable, and wearing the same printed piece can't be done all the time.

However there is always a way, whether you wear it on accessories or clothes, and style it differently every time you wear a printed piece, you gotta have it, you gotta wear it, you gotta go crazy it.

The Obsession

Ways to print your wardrobe up, many, it is entirely up to you.

Object of Desire: KikiStyleMod Statement Jewelry!

2012 has been the year of statement jewelry pieces and I couldn't be any happier about that. I recently ordered a certain amount of pieces to be made for me, just to fit my taste  and be of my liking. I love my jewelry to be bold and hopefully gold (as it is my favorite color/tone). I am obsessed with these pieces, but then again, aren't we all obsessed with our jewelry?

Accessory Obsession: Studded Shoes

My white Studded boots
I love them!

This season studs are ALL OVER THE PLACE! Everywhere we walk there they are, literally! The shoes we walk on have a slight pink influence and are now studded. Forget flowers, who wants flowers when you can get studs? From flats to boots, round or square the best way to compliment an outfit is to wear a pair of studded shoes! My obsession with these accessories goes so far that when I saw my white studded boots (pictured above) I didn't care the only pair available was a size less to mine I had to get them!

Options are many, chose our own and get a pair!

Object of Desire: Collar Tips & Chains!

Stud Collar Chain

Skull Collar Chain

Golden Collar Tips
Some of you may have seen them already (probably on my instagram pictures) but I am obsessed with these collar tips. I first saw them in Balenciaga's Spring-Summer 2011 collection and I went crazy over them, so subtle, so reminiscent of  a vintage cowboy aesthetic and ever so fabulous and amazing. I never thought about wearing them myself, but ended up discovering I loved them when one of my friends at uni (a fellow fashion blogger) was wearing them and SELLING THEM! I had to get my hands on a pair! Definately a smart choice, to make a simple button down shirt go from blah to boom!
